Close to 25,000 Lost Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Weather Systems
Approximately 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the state, generating strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Broad Destruction
Locals observed giant hailstones measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also faced power outages after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received 598 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for building damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

- Wyndham - over 175 emergency requests
During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued storm activity predicted across different parts of both regions.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This alert comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to significant health impacts in the region.
