Per new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the presidential administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided information indicating Maxwell is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a news release that the prison’s warden was assisting Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings reportedly involve a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about instructing her contacts to call and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she reportedly employed the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release states that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to the inmate, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks reportedly provided to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the new prison than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was transferred from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to Trump.

Raskin asked whether he had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, family or representatives have made any promises to the President or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a response to the inquiries by 24 November.

Last month, the nation's highest court rejected an petition from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
